Sophie Usherwood

Welcome to Gorgeous Gourmet! I'm passionate about creating and sharing the wholesome, efficient recipes that I make as a Yale student and incoming software engineer at Microsoft. They are inspired by the recipes I learned from my mom, as well as my explorations into other cuisines. Due to my food allergies, these recipes are free from nuts, eggs, seafood, and sesame, making them safe for other people with these food restrictions. Outside of school and work, I'm a flutist and pianist, and I have played the flute with the Yale Symphony Orchestra and the Youth Philharmonic Orchestra at the New England Conservatory Preparatory School. I enjoy folding origami, and I have won awards from OrigamiUSA's Origami By Children competitions as well as being selected as one of two national scholarship winners to attend their convention in New York City. In my free time, I love downhill skiing, expressing my moods through my fashion choices, and exploring hidden gems in Cambridge and Boston.​
